As nobody has replied to you yet I will give you my two penneth worth.

When you say a good hire car company in Nang Rong are you meaning cheap.

The only reason I say that is I find in Thailand good and cheap rarely go together. I have lots of experience hiring cars all over Thailand for the past 25 years and found that cheap hire car companies can have some huge drawbacks (hopefully you may never see these drawbacks but if you ever have to rely on road side assistance, replacement vehicles or dealing with a reputable insurance company than you will see why they are "cheap").

Locally to Nang Rong I have hired vehicles off BE a decade ago and one man bands out of Korat that come and meet you in shopping centres because they have no offices. Now i'm not saying these particular companies are like some of the other sharks but their fleets are limited and sometimes very high mileage and not really that much cheaper than internationally renowned companies.

When driving in Thailand you have got to consider what time of year your driving, driving up country or mostly in urban areas and on made up or unpaved roads, and will the type of vehicle you hire stand up to this type of driving for a few weeks without a breakdown.

In the past I have been through all these types of companies for different reasons but over the  7 or 8 years i have used only the big companies you will see advertised at all the major airports. Their fleets are good, very new, good back up and valid insurance cover. I have vehicles delivered to the airport door drop them off at hotels in downtown Bangkok and in general have no problems. You can also pick up vehicles from these companies at all big airports and cities. I appreciate there maybe the odd problem with one of these companies but in general they are more trustworthy and have their international reputations to consider. Shop around, give them a call. get quotes, I've lived, worked and holidayed in Thailand sometimes the most inviting deal at the outset costs more in the long run.

A word of advice, when taking collection of the vehicle video the all round inspection by the Thai delivery driver getting him in shot, as well has any imperfections he lists you point out the ones you have seen to him while the video is running whether he logs it of not. I can assure you this way you will never have no accidental damage claims that has not occurred during your hire period added on at the end of a hiring if you do this. Also the old bill tend to stop cars less I find when the spot the large company logo (debatable I know in certain provinces). And always try and use a the new dash cams as your position from always being in the wrong at the scene of a collision can sometimes be changed with almost irrefutable evidence.

The reason I have not not listed my preferred hire company is deliberate because I don't wish to sound like an advertisement.

In that case are are half a dozen large International car rental companies operating all over Thailand so crack on.

I don't know if you live in Nang Rong or not but if your point of entry into Thailand is elsewhere or an international Airport you can pick up there or at major cities closer to Nang Rong or even agree to have it delivered to Nang Rong at an extra cost with some companies (personally I would pick up yourself its far cheaper).

Then you only have to make sure that the worlds best drivers don't run into you!
