New to Buriram
« on: December 16, 2017, 09:56:53 PM »
Hi Buriram Expats,

My name is Mac, been coming here for a few years but from 1st December the move is more permanent, came in from Dubai where I have been working in the oil industry.  Living in Huai Rat with my wife and young son. Semi retired but will be returning to Dubai every 3 months for a couple of weeks.  I am a Brit, coming from Norwich and supporting the Canaries but love to watch most football, my other interests are photography with aspirations to make it a business! I am a scuba diving instructor and plan to spend a lot of time in Pattaya and other places.  Hope to get to know some of you during my stay here.

Cheer Mac

I lived in Norwich for a while, 20 odd years ago, I used to work in the Clarence Harbour pub next to the football ground.

I saw on the TV there was a Guy from Norwich that had a parrot that cried whenever Norwich City lost.
When they asked the parrot's owner "What happens when Norwich wins "
The owner said "I don't know, I've only had it four years."

Mac:  Welcome to Buriram. Anytime you stop by my family owned builders merchants store across from the Buriram PEA office building you will meet other expats. Please mark January 8th on your social calendar for an event sponsored in part by Ruangsangthai.
FI, or Fairly Interesting, is designed to stimulate and entertain all farang members. It is
based on the Stephen Fry television series QI, Quite Interesting. In this highly successful live
show, Stephen Fry has an ?expert panel? to answer and debate the topic being discussed. FI
will be slightly different. The FI format will involve a presentation by The Chair, that should
be both informative and amusing. The farang audience will assume the role of the ?expert
panel?. When you visit Ruangsangthai you can speak with Mr. Bob, MIss Jaew, Mr. Thai Bob in the expat sales department and receive a printed invitation to this "FI evening" in Buriram.

Welcome Macca,
Hope your new life in Burirram is all you dream of.
I am also a scuba diver but only to Rescue Level. Don't go as much as I would like and tend to head further South when I do.
Who knows. Maybe a trip to K Tao n the future?! Think they do some reasonable 3/4 day livabords.

Welcome Macca
There are a few really nice guys that live out Huai Rat area. To get your best handle on who's who in the zoo I can well recommend a beer at the Paddy's Irish Bar. They got a Social golf club there ?Darts nights and all the lads are really welcoming. Another place is Harley Route 266 and the Lakeside Bar. If you make yourself known at those 3 places you should of met most of the expats.
regards
