i need a farang car mechanic or a place to put the car up.
« on: June 24, 2017, 12:34:52 PM »
HI There

I am in need of a car mechanic..NOT THAI or a place to lift my car up andwork on it myself.
Is anybody here on the forum able to check and fix my brakes or does anyone have a place i can do this myself?

i have brought the car to the dealer ship as well as another shop several times, but it seems impossible to get this done right here..
i have no idea how else to get it done right.....it seems that 3 times is not enough for them to do this simple job.

Please if someone is able to do this..let me know

gr Jerome

Just a suggestion mate but I would think that many Thai workshops would be happy to rent you space and a hydraulic ramp for a few hours. Money is money at the end of the day.

If my memory serves well, I think there has been a few posts as to the best places to get cars serviced/repaired. After sales service car services for me have always been hit and miss. I'll leave it to other BM's to advise on best place to take your car. But your post lacks a bit of detail. (make of car, where you purchased) I mean brakes you would think are a basic service. But as usual T.I.T.
regards

Brake cilinders in the back are replaced...Brakes are till spongy...after 3 times....makes me a little tired to go back again.
Either the brakes are still leaking somewhere or they forgot ( or did it wrong ) to take the air out of the brakesystem..Yes it is pretty basic and simple so it surprised me tat 2 diff shops can not get it done .
Make and model i'll keep quite for now as i am still negotiating with this garage about this ( costs etc.)

Not what you are asking but I was pleased with the service I got from B-Quick north side of Robinsons.

well guess i can tell you now..
I will NEVER return here anyway..
It's a Mazda BT 50     8000THb and no less than 7 days later in total over 3 times trying   my brakes are still spongy.
They can keep the money..lost all trust in them

I will try another garage, bt have little faith....

If the peddle is bottoming out after constant pressure you have either a leak or air in the system..I'm not a mechanic but try pulling the Fuse out of the ABS and see what difference that makes... It might be on the ABS side?

My guess is air..checked the whole system on leaks, but need to be sure....i can do this on the street under my ca, but rather have it done in a garage...and check ik good for leaks.....

Need a garage i can trust that they know what it's about...Such a simple job took a dealer 3 times without luck...i mean cmon...

I second that. I did my 100 000Km service there and they found stuff that Nissan never bothered with (shock absorbers), they even showed me the inside of the air conditioning filter (filthy) I didn't get that done as I was buying new tyres also, next time.

I believe I read in a previous post that the waiting area at B-Quick has CCTV so you can observe the work being done on your vehicle.

As said sounds like it could have air in the system, If you havent already done so ,all wheels off , rear drums removed check for wetness around cylinders and around the front callipers, and all brake lines and hoses also put you hand under to master cylinder on the brake booster and check for fluid. check in the cabin up where the brake rod goes through the fire wall for moisture .It could also have worn seals within the Master cylinder without having any visual leaks. How many KLM has this car travelled? good luck.

I think it is only fair to point out that I have a BT50 and have never had a problem with the servicing. The mechanics have always been knowledgable and polite. The service area is impeccably clean. It is OK to watch them at work although I never have as, like I said, I have never had any problems.

Places often do "find" new things. I know a guy who took his car in. Told he needed new wheel bearings on both front wheels. When he pulled out a receipt to show he'd had them done recently and that they were under guarentee the story changed.

I should know the exact name of this guys business and give GPS coordinates, but sorry I don't.
However, if you head towards Korat from Lamplait Mat on the 226 you pass through the small town that has the Mini Big C. About 15km on from Lam Plait Mat. Go through that town and just before you get to the roundabout where you take the left for Korat there is a big motor workshop on the right. Called something like TCS Motor World. It's got a yellow and green frontage with a auto spares/parts shop attached on the right.
The guy who runs that is excellent, knows his stuff and speaks a little English. Always very busy in the mornings but quieter in the afternoons. Prices are good and I know several people who use the place. Currently my truck is on Warranty from Ford but from September I'll be using this place.
Appreciate a bit of a trek from Buriram but don't think you'll be disappointed with the service, price and knowledge of the mechanics working there.
It's a pretty big place, got 3/4 ramps and is well knitted out.
