Yes I know you are against Big C, but I like their Country Sour.

Otherwise I am looking forward to finishing my kitchen as making bread is a goal.

Big C has good bread, I bought some yesterday. The really good stuff disappears very quickly. Or maybe you think anything that isn't sliced and wrapped in plastic isn't bread?
Robinson's Tops has good bread also.
I generally make my own toast bread  these days because the toast bread is, as everywhere in the world, soggy pap designed to be eaten by toothless invalids.

An alternative could be to bake your own with a Bread maker?

http://verasu.com/product_detail.php?pid=1015

And here some recipes

http://allrecipes.com/recipes/338/bread/bread-machine/
http://www.bettycrocker.com/recipes/preparation/bread-machine-recipes

I have a bread maker that I generally use only for mixing the dough these days. The bread flour in Thailand isn't quite the same as that that is used in the recipes so it needs some experimenting until you get it right. Reducing the yeast content stopped my loaves collapsing for instance, I tend to add wholemeal and even oats to most recipes to get a firmer bread. Lots of stuff like that.

Sorry mate, burger buns can't be classified as bread, anything that gives way when you push your finger at it and it goes 'eek' is, as I said before, invalid fodder.

I also think the Big C breads not bad. We buy the sour dough and the French Country. Both very good IMO. You do have to go in the morning though. Usually all gone by 1 pm.

Last time she saw you she was gagging, and asked me not to force her to see you again.  That is why we have met in Buriram without her there the last 2 times.

Have not tried the sour dough, but by the time I get home the French style bread is like chewing leather. It just ain't right. Probably be the kind of flour they use. Must be the same stuff my local Tesco and Morrisons use back in the UK as that's shite to.

Last week we were at big C and I got a loaf of Country Sour while it was still warm on the cart.  And when I got home it was still warm.  I sliced off an end smeared with butter, it was very good eating, so I had another piece.

Sometimes you get lucky.  However I have been at Big C in the afternoon and Country Sour was rock hard, I did not buy.
