Which Ride On Lawn Mowers should I keep in stock in Buriram?
« on: September 23, 2015, 12:34:15 PM »
This Monday I shipped out the last made in the USA Troy Bilt Pony riding lawn mower to home owner living near Nang Rong. I contacted the importer of Craftsman Lawn Tractors | Orec Brush Mowers | Troy Bilt Ride On lawn mowers to see what is actually on the ground in Thailand and available to stock in Buriram at my family owned hardware store.  The input from the Buriram Expats on what size ride on lawn mowers is much appreciated.  I've been told that the Orec Brush Mowers are designed and made in Japan, that the Craftsman are made in the USA and that the Troy Bilt ride on lawn mowers are made in the USA with Briggs & Stratton engines.  I certainly have in stock a slew of push and self propelled moderately priced normal gasoline and electric lawn mowers from Sakari | Bosch | Makita | Honda | Briggs & Stratton | Rapter.  I will no longer order Talon lawn mowers due to recent challenges in spare parts from the new importer of Talon garden products.
The updated list of what RIDE ON lawn mowers are in stock this week in Thailand at the exclusive importer of these three brands.
We have Troy Bilt T30R 13.5 hp 30 inch cutting deck  7 units in stock
Troy Bilt TB2654   26hp   54 inch cutting deck   4 units  in stock
            Craftsman T3200  22hp  with a 48" cutting deck   5 units in stock
OREC RM83G   83 cm  cutting deck 2 units in stock
OREC RM88  88 cm cutting deck  4 units in stock

I have a standing order for the Troy Bilt Pony 17.5 hp 42" cutting deck when it arrives again in Thailand from the USA.  I would appreciate any suggestions from Buriram Expats as to which of the other ride on lawn mowers would prove worthwhile for Ruangsangthai to keep in stock in Buriram.  I only will order models that have an optional grass catcher available in Thailand for those gardeners who value a grass catcher.  I always price lawn mowers and brush cutters less than the Buriram Home Pro | Buriram Global House | Buriram Thai Watsadu | Buriram Home Mart | Buriram IQ House if they have the exact same brand and model.  I passed on several high margin Chinese designed and Chinese made brands with Euro sounding names as my tool repair department as seen the build quality of these unknown brands.

My 'lawn' is around 35m2 and I do not need a motorized lawnmower as these are too big and too complex to operate.

I would like to buy a small and hand pushed mower. Do you have these in stock and if what would be the price.

Thank you for the reply. I certainly have in stock the no fuel, no cord, no motor, rotary push lawn mower. It is under 3000 baht. Designed and manufactured in China. None have come back for repair. We can sharpen the lawn mower blades. The Talon push rotary lawn mower doubles as an exercise machine for a Thai Spouse. No need to buy the "as seen on TV" exercise machine, when a Buriram expat can provide their spouse with this amazing grass mower that needs no cords or fuel.

Six Ride On lawn mowers are on order for Buriram Ruangsangthai thanks to the input of forum members. I also received a shipment of genuine made in the USDA Briggs & Stratton spare parts this Monday for 4 stroke Briggs & Stratton lawn mower engines. Some parts are only 90 baht each, but are important items to keeping quality lawn mowers running at their best performance.  Mr, Shaun Burke the 15 year Bangkok managing director of UK based Cromwell Tools visited my Buriram Hardware store on Monday afternoon. He and Mr. Moses Lopez spoke of his recent hip replacement surgery in Thailand as well as quality Cromwell carpentry and machine tools to have in stock this November at my family owned hardware store. Mr. Bob was very interested in other products from Grainger Supply, the new owner of Cromwell Tools. The European Director of Lanko Building products will be visiting Ruangsangthai next week and that bodes well for expanded displays of Lanko and ParexGroup products and more brochures in English. A sincere THANK YOU to the Buriram expats who pm me with suggestions, who telephone my mobile number and best of all those men who visit the store and speak to me directly.

Today a shipment of genuine Troy Bilt Ride On Pony lawn Mowers arrived at Ruangsangthai in Buriram. These garden lawn mowers are manufactured in Jackson, Michigan in the United State of America. I also now have in stock the optional rear grass catcher for this popular riding lawn mower. This week I will have two of these Briggs & Stratton powered lawn mowers set up and on display at the front of Ruangsangthai facing Highway 2074.  No other store in Buriram to my knowledge keeps this made in the USA model ride on lawn mower in stock in January 2016. I also bought oil filters and belts to keep on stock for this popular Troy Bilt grass mower.

To answer your original question on which lawn mowers you should keep in stock:

I avoid Craftsman Lawnmowers, Sears controls the craftsman logo and they contract out for producing these mowers.  There have been times when the Sears switched contractors making some parts for the old mower difficult to get.

Recommend you checkout John Deere, they are selling these in the USA at Lowes and Home Depot.  I had a Deere riding mower for 14 years before it started to give out.  I get a deal on a relatively new Craftsman, and I hated it.  Went back and bought another Deere.

I also had a large John Deere for about 10 years, riding it about 12 hours a week, excellent. Not the cheapest machine around but I could do nearly all maintenance and repairs myself. I would go for a Honda these days.

The importer of John Deere ride on lawn mowers in Thailand has informed me today that the John Deere D-105 is not currently in Thailand. I'll be frank, MTD makes this model and the wholesale price is steep compared to the Troy Bilt I stock and service. If any Buriram expats wish to pay in the neighborhood of 199K for the John Deere D-105, which is NOT made at a John Deere farm tractor factory, I'll gladly order this product. In the meantime I am pleased to announce the Troy Bilt Pony is in stock, with spare parts, with the grass catcher installed and on display in Buriram at Ruangsangthai. It is displayed next to the Honda HRJ216KS self propelled lawn mowers and Honda Inverter Generators. If you compare the specifications of the Troy Bilt Pony and the John Deere D-105 you can see why I regularly sell the Troy Bilt ride on lawn mower to Buriram expats and Thai residents.

The importer of Troy Bilt and Briggs & Stratton lawn mowers is offering free wash and polish of any Briggs & Stratton Ride On lawn Mowers bought between today and next Thursday. These four Buriram female models seem familiar with soapy cleaning and polishing to a spit and shine.Hitachi does not currently import lawn mowers or lawn tractors into Thailand yet they import polishers that seem up for the task at hand.  These women seemed eager to pour coffee and demonstrate skills for the visitors to my family owned lawn mower and tool shop today in Buriram.

I have been given the opportunity to be the first store in Isaan Thailand to offer the made in the USA Troy Bilt Mustang 54 XP ZERO TURN ride on lawn mower. The Troy Bilt importer is offering me the zero turn with or without the grass catcher. I would like the opinion of Buriram Expats as to which model I should bring to Buriram. I sincerely appreciate the advise of the expats who have previous experience with zero turn lawn mowers and ride on mowers. The prices, while not inexpensive, of Troy Bilt are significantly less than Husqvarna similar lawn mowers in Thailand. I've attached a video link showing the assembly and testing of the Troy Bilt Zero Turn Mowers.  Thank you, Mr. Pichai.   [url=https://youtu.be/rXYibyvnTT0]]https://youtu.be/rXYibyvnTT0]e attached a video link showing the assembly and testing of the Troy Bilt Zero Turn Mowers.  Thank you, Mr. Pichai.   https://youtu.be/rXYibyvnTT0

The CASH or bank transfer price of the Troy Bilt Mustang 54" in Buriram will be 195,990 without the bagger. The price of the Troy Bilt Mustang 54" with the bagger is 211,679 baht. Delivery is free in Buriram and Surin province. The Ruangsangthai cash price is 207,321 baht LESS than a similar model of Husqvarna   Below is from the Husqvarna dealer:

"We only have 1 x model Zero Turn in stock in Thailand at present and this is the EZ 17 truly professional machine 410,000 baht plus delivery 9,000 thb."

The fine folks at the Husqvarna Distributor Importer in Bangkok has NO Zero Turn Lawn Mowers in stock in Thailand. They will be getting the EZ17 zero turn grass mower. It will be sold for over 400,000 baht. The delivery fee from Bangkok was quoted as 24,000 baht to Surin Province. There is a Husqvarna R213C Ride On Mower in Stock in Bangkok that is selling for 290,000 PLUS VAT and PLUS delivery.  It should be clear to Buriram Expats why my low overhead family store has selected Troy Bilt as the line of Made in the USA Ride On Lawn Mower and Zero Turn Lawn Mowers to offer residents of Buriram and Thailand. Husqvarna is a fine brand, but the customers of Ruangsangthai often consider price in relationship to another brands offering.
