Robinsons
« on: July 21, 2015, 06:01:58 AM »
Neighbour insists that Robinsons is open, he walked around on Saturday. Parking spaces appear to be full of cars from Bangkok. Anybody been for a look?

Strange. We drove by yesterday and didn't appear to be open. Looked like just contractor vehicles in car park and a green mesh was erected along the front of the building.

Your Neighbour is a typical Thai.. A lying bastardo... I went past on Saturday night and they hadn't even put the full name under the Big R...  It only said  ROBIN.. The rest was missing lol

Whilst I wouldn't accuse your neighbour of lying he does appear to be mistaken. Opening day is 29th July. There are some Tops posters dotted around Buriram with that date on too.

I thought as much, just thought that it must be partially opened. Never mind, maybe he did walk around inside, he wasn't going to buy anything so maybe he thought it was open. He's an honest guy.

Don't you possess a VIP card for the checkout?

What's a VIP card? You mean a licensed seller of alcohol? The only time I felt the need for my Makro card was when there were many people waiting and it was announced that people with cards had priority. I never saw anyone going to the head of the queue waving a card.
I was in BigC yesterday and it was 'empty'.

Anybody compared prices BigC/Tops yet? No price war that I could see. Beer costs the same as does butter. My wife thought things were slightly more expensive, which is surprising for an opening day.
Shortly after saying that butter was ฿20 cheaper in Makro than in BigC, Makro put their price up! They must be spying on this forum.
