Pattaya Thai Passport Office
« on: July 24, 2014, 11:37:15 AM »
Thailand has opened a Thai Passport office at the Avenue Shopping Center in Pattaya.  That is basically at Soi 13 and the 2nd road.  It is on the ground floor, towards the back around the bend from the Billard Place.

We just went there today.  It opens at 0830 to either 1530 or 1630 depending on which sign is correct.  We arrived at 0930, (we reconned the place at 0830 and there was a long line outside).  Got number 88, and we were called about 1030.  It seems to move fairly quickly.

Got a Thai Passport for the angel, they needed to see my passport and I had to sign her form.

Because it's another option.  This office just opened 3 June so I assumed most were not aware of this office.

We were going to go to Korat, but it worked out for us to be here.

The wife just returned from Ubon. She said it only took her 10 minutes for a renewal cost was 1000 baht for PP and 40 baht for ems. 5 years back she paid 1400 baht for PP in CNX. Whats the cost for and adult PP in SIN City?

Surely it will be a fixed price - my missus paid same as your s in Korat last year.

Bloody better system than the UK passport service!

Learned some hard lessons this trip.

1.  Pattaya Passport Office now on 3rd floor (at the elevator) and limits to 260 a day
2.  You can go on-line to get in the queue, but is limited to 40 a day (and was full this week)
3.  When you renew your child's passport it is the same as getting new, need the same documents (e.g., Birth Certificate, House book, both parents, Falang Passport).

Went by this morning at 0630 and people were in line (Opens 0830).  Yesterday we arrived 0800 and were done by 1030.  However, understand they offer the 1st five to volunteer expedited service for an extra 1000 baht or so.  Passport cost is still 1040 baht.
