Service at Nissan dealership
« on: February 11, 2014, 02:27:31 PM »
Alright, this is  maybe a moan about Thailand in general, no need to pick on Nissan as being special. We called this morning, first service on our Nissan, ok they said, come at 11.00, finished at 12.00. So we do that, walk down to BigC to do some shopping, back at 11.50 and the car is in front of the service office. When I opened the door, the mechanic comes over and tells us it isn't finished yet, so we go and sit down. Suddenly we notice that all the mechs have disappeared and that only one girl is in the office. They went to eat. We didn't.
After 2 hours I persuaded my wife to complain to her, the mechs turned up almost immediately and the car was done in literally 5 minutes more working time.
I was bubbling over by this time and getting ready to thump anybody that told me 'sabai, sabai' in the immediate future. In the open plan office everyone was aware that a customer was very unhappy, the only one that reacted was the girl that had helped before and took our money ( I was thinking of making them wait a few hours for payment).
These guys took our money very quickly when we bought the car, after that you seem to cease to be interesting as a customer..  oh dear, turning into a rant.

Anyway has anyone else had problems at Nissan?
Anyway. I feel better now...

well think about the word "dolt" a bit more and ask yourself if you have a sense of humor.

As I have written a few times before, the word dolt does not apply to me, but to people that take it seriously and thus don't have a sense of humour. I don't think that wasting 3 hours (+  1 hour driving) without food, and more importantly, without a word of explanation, is funny, nor did my wife or the other person with us or the other couple that had been waiting even longer than us.
Sense of humour? None of your business but I did make a bit of money making people laugh at festivals in my youth.
Not English, are you?

Split lunches haven't been invented yet in Thailand ANYWHERE so I'm afraid you will just have to get used to that and factor it into the time schedule that you choose to make.

Go early morning and get things finished before the shops/banks/offices/garages/surgeries close for an hour.

Have had the same shit in the UK in the past. Have ordered new Merc's and Audies,
they cant do enough for you until you sign the order. Once thats done you just become another pleb. They dont give a shit about you.

Well I have to agree with that, although I haven't  been back for 14 years now. I was spoilt by the concept of customer service in Switzerland. I once told the guy that I would walk back home despite his insistence on driving me back. it started raining and he came and picked me up!

Nissan Buriram = crap. New Navara arrived with the wrong colour interior. I've had a new wheel on order since September 2011. Every time we go in for service etc., we ask if it's arrived. No. So we phoned Nissan Bangkok who referred the matter to the branch manager.  In the dealership for service last week. Has the wheel arrived. No, have you ordered one ? Absolute crap but then it was my choice to buy Nissan. Never again.

Well for me it was reading that Nissan looked after its customers that made me go for Nissan. Of course in Thailand, nobody looks after their customers.

So to round off our story about Nissan Buriram, the misses eventually got to speak to the manager but only on the phone. She told him our moans and that Nissan Bangkok had referred the matter for him to deal with. He reckoned that the parts man either ' forgot ' or ' was too lazy ' to order our wheel. So we've waited 2 years and 8 months, what was he going to do about it ? Actually, nothing. We had two other minor issues which were met with the same enthusiastic response. The misses mentioned it was the time for us to replace our truck, and his customer care was somewhat disappointing. He just laughed and that was the end of that.
