Buying a Vehicle Battery

I am not happy with my vehicle battery, came with my Ford Ranger I bought 3 years ago, it is failing me again. 


I tried a battery store across from the Power Company, but they wanted to sell me the same battery I had in my truck. 


Is there a good place that stocks maintenance free batteries for trucks?  I don't want the add water kind. 




I plan to check the store on the way to 226 just before you get to the 7-11 as you start to leave Buriram.

There is a small battery shop but well known on Jira road.
As you drive on Jira from Taweekit, about 500M on the left side, drive slow and you will see the place.
Can you explain the reason you are not satisfied with your current battery?
Is it because of the maintanance you need to refill the battery with liquid? Are you maintaining the battery on regular basis and its still failing?
Life cycle of car battery in Thailand is approx 2-3 years.

Last question: Did install any additional electronic system in your truck?

I am a spoiled American.  I would ignore the battery until there were problems, or every 4-5 years.  I concluded 30 years ago to replace vehicle batteries every 4 years, even when the warranty was for more than 7. 

Where are these 7 year batteries I easily bought in the US?  Yes I know this is Thailand (TIT).  But this has been easy in the US for over 10 years.  Heck, the battery shop I checked had Panasonic Maintenance Free Batteries, but only for cars.  Why not pick ups.

So I would like to get a battery that lasts 4+ years that you don't have to check. 

If I can't find because TIT, I will live with it.  But I really try to reduce my hassles. 




As to the last question.  Very Interesting.  Yes, replaced the stereo with a DVD Player and back up cam.

3 years is pretty good for over here..........Sealed Batteries are available for pick-ups ,but don't seem to last as long as the normal 'top-up'type............Could be something to do with the climate we live in!

Thanks for sealed battery advice. 

As far as the climate, it is not too different than Southern Florida/Alabama or Hawaii, and I haven't noted any special battery issues coming from those areas (I used to own property on Lake Okeechobee, big lake a little north of Miami)

Batteries in Thailand are the shits. Your lucky to get 3 years on a new one. You can buy the best that money can buy BUT it will crap out in 3 years. I have a 2008 Toyota 4x4, in 20011 I had to replace the battery. By next year I'll replace it again.

I think it's all down to maintenance,
I remember I had a new Mitsubishi triton and haven't replaced battery for 4 years!
