I'm posting this because I would help the guy if I could do so anonymously.  Unfortunately if I helped him and he found out, he would be at my door every day.  It is sad that I just can't go to the local Wat, give them the money and say get it fixed.  But Thai's don't think like that. 
 
I wanted to help this guy before.  I once physically did as he fell out of his Wheelchair and I picked him up, putting him back. 
 
 
Look at the front wheels, they are broke and they guy is moving at about 1/4 wheel turn a movement. 
 
Any suggestions of how to anonymously fix it?

1. Send someone else to the Temple to "deposit" the money and issue the repair instructions. Job done.

2. Cough up the 3700 Bht and buy a new one. Have someone else deliver it to his house. Job done.

Agree with you, if you are seen to be involved, you may be looked at as a "soft touch"

About a year ago I saw him and the rubber was off the main tires and they were distinctly warped.  I asked my TW how to fix, she did not know.  I specifically asked her why she just can't money to the local Wat and have them fix it.  She told me they don't do that. 

Made no sense to me, but I bascially have to work through her to fix the problem.

There is a Pharmacy shop on Nivas road, Opposite & not far from the train station of Buriram. If not there, take a look at the big pharmacy opposite Kasikorn bank area.
I recall both were selling wheelchairs.
Somnat suggestment to buy and deliver it to him anonymously is the best way IMHO.
I wouldn't send someone, better get the address (full address of his house, name and family name somehow without getting his suspicion. send it registered mail EMS that you can track it to know he actually got it.
Don't put your details as the sender of course....

Keith,buying a new chair is a great idea.How about asking members to chip in to help.Find out the price and maybe members could meet at the shop.If you have the guys name and address,maybe the shop could deliver and tell him it's from the BE members.Solves the soft touch problem.I will start the ball rolling with 500 baht towards a new chair.Cheers,Eric

Wow, I am overwhelmed, it did not occur to me to ask for financial assistance, but I will take it.  Mom and wife are discussing it right now, I will update you on the progress.

OK, I have a plan. 

I will go to town and buy a chair.  There is a local guy I can get to deliver it.  Once it's delivered I will get a picture of the guy in the new chair and post it here.  I will then PM any that offered to contribute.  However, no one gets any credit as if I said BE or something like that, he might figure out the local Farang was involved.

Was going to propose a collection myself, but as am in the UK till early Nov thought it was a bit a cheek to leave it to you guys.
Now the ball seems to be well and truly rolling and i would like to chip in 500 myself.
I have a mate in a village near us who i'm sure would front up the money for me till i get there.
Any suggestions as to where he can take it to be collected please.
