This will be the 3rd night with Jasmine Home, I must say I am lucky so far.  The Mom (my wonderful Thai wife) ensures she is regularly fed.  I cannot say I have been kept awake by the baby crying.   crazydance

Life is really good, and I am blessed.  Good luck to any of you expats that want to try:

Hello Urleft,

First of all i would like to congratulate you with the birth of your child.

we are also going to the same clinic in korat for an IVF treatment right now.

in my experience do they speak english well enough to explain you in understandable words eveything when you have any questions.
(the doctor studied at the university of western Australia, and works in the daytime at the BKK hospital korat or SMH i believe).

Kind regards,
michelNL

Thanks Michel,

There was one guy that spoke good English, and he explained the setup to me.  Unfortunately after that I never saw him again.  The DR spoke little English.  However, his equipment is 1st rate, and he does all the stuff himself at his clinic.

One thing that took me by surprise was the cost of the shots for the woman.  I think for 6 shots it cost about 15,000 baht.  There are also a lot of trips their for the shots, plus check ups.  If you get lucky and the pregnancy takes, plan on going about once a week for the 1st 2 months.  Also they say don't ride Scooters and the rate of miscarriage is higher with IVF.

So my TW was babied for 6 months, no scooter riding, I drove her to school, no lifting, etc.  It may have been overkill, but it worked for us.

However, we did switch to a local doctor the last 3 months to have Jasmine close to home.  My TW was not happy with me forcing that on her, but afterwards she said it was the right thing to do because of all the family support, which if we used a Korat hospital would not have been available.

Best of luck to you.

Keith

BTW, there  is a Mexican restaurant right near the clinic that isn't bad.

BTW, after being forced to have a DNA test by the Fucking US Embassy, the lab results say:

That there is a 99.99999999999% chance Urleft is the Father.

I expect the embassy will require a 2nd opinion.

I am truely blessed to have her.  All babies cry, but her not too bad.  Personnally I believe it is because of the constant attention from Granny, 3 aunts, Great Gandpa and half the village.  Thais seem fascinated with her:
