Hey, I  am an American and I don't eat at MacDonalds. However, my son loves to eat there. It must be his Thai half that loves the fast junk food.

Merry Christmas to everyone there in Thailand.

My first and last visit to a  McDonalds was in Dublin, more than 30 years ago. For the price I expected a cup and saucer for my "coffee". Never again.

Did you ever try it, Isaan food? Quite good until your giggling Thai friends tell you what it is. Burgers don't generally contain the best cuts of meat, which is why I make them at home if I feel in dire need. Very easy to make, which makes me wonder what they do to the stuff to make it taste so bad. I never found any decent beef in Thailand, so I now I no longer bother.

davu ... Makro Buriram have a reasonable selection of frozen beef. I really like their steaks, usually 4 steaks in a frozen pack. Make sure you take your selection to the "meat section"  weigh station, as they need to weigh it and put a barcode on it, then you tramp all the way to the checkout at the front of the store and join the queue.

First time, I didn't realise frozen pack had no barcode, and then stood in line for 10mins waiting to checkout, only to be told "can't scan .... no barcode !!" .... so back to the meat section.

Bought 1kg of frozen beef mince a while back for Spag Bog dinner. After cooking the mince, I drained nearly 2 Coke cans of fat from the frypan !! Must have weighed nearly 500g of fat !! So, I will look elsewhere for beef mince !!

But the steaks are really AROY

I usually buy my spaghetti beef mince in Friendship supermarket Pattaya on my infrequent visits. Freezes well, and very little fat content. I buy pitta bread there too - nice to dip in the bolognese sauce.

I like burgers and meatballs and make my own. Mc Donalds is poor quality and their coffee is shit as well. But I wouldn't buy anything from them or Starbucks for political reasons no matter how good their products were.

Any recommendations on where to buy good quality beef mince in Buriram town ? Pattaya seems a tad too far to buy dinner !!
