Is there a really "cold" season in Buriram?
« on: November 02, 2012, 01:32:42 PM »
My wife has told stories of a cold season in Buriram, but every time I have visited it is very warm. Is she telling the truth or is it just slightly less warm in the "cold" season?

Depends what you mean by cold. Last year it got down to about 12c during the day. This lasted for a week or so. I have been here long enough now that I felt cold.

I always thought Thailand was either hot and dry or hot and wet.

I was therefore pleasantly surprised to find the relative seasonality in Buriram. It has now started to cool off and our thermometer in the bedroom dropped to 27 degrees yesterday. Waking up to an outside temperature of 18 degrees certainly has a freshness to it (as does the water in the shower if I use the water tank). November to February are equable months and are a pleasant break break from the intolerable heat and humidity of late March and April.
