neither Toffo in my view.

Coming from Buriram, go via Nang Rong, Non Din Dang, Wattana Nakhon. Can't be more specific at this unearthly hour, but this is a pleasant route,

The quickest route in my book is Highway 24,then 304,thro the mountains onto 331.I travel to Pattaya twice a month ,have tried both routes & find the above a fair bit quicker.I live halfway between Nang Rong & Nong Ki

Where you live Nookie, the 304  through the mountains makes sense, but from Buriram it is better to cut across country to the tail end of the 304 and then the 331

423 km from Buriram.

Depending on the final destination in Pattaya I would consider taking the Laem Chabang turn (a bit of a helter-skelter road for a few km) , picking up the 7 motorway and entering on the Sukhumvit Road just before soi Siam Country Club.

Nick,I'm only 18kms from Nang Rong ,I've used both routes ,the distance is about the same but the 304 is by far quicker

Nookie -  if you have to pass through Nang Rong first, then I suggest the Wattana Nakhon route is quicker.

Why have you given up the laem chabang/motorway section? It's OK going, but not coming back!

No Nick I don't go into Nang Rong,I use the 'bypass' road up past the bus station.
It turns out that its no quicker than the 331/Banglamung route.2  of us were travelling down together ,I went Laem Chabang route,he kept  on 331 turning at Banglamung traffic lights,& he was waiting for me where the 2 routes merge!!
