Most Isaan Thai women would opt for somtam!

It's their staple diet!

I think Massaman is overrated (again an opinion!) - it seems more Indonesian/Indian than Thai to me.

This will no doubt be the catalyst for SDK to start a "What's on your plate" thread !

Red, I think all Thai women would say somtam lol
But masaman can't believe it, it's good al-right but x me Indian curries piss all over Thai curries.
And how many people round the world eat masaman anyway?
You would think chilli con carne or, spaghetti bol would win before masaman
It's a fix by a Asian betting syndicate .
Thats what I think

I'm fond of Som Tam myself, but I really like that "Goy" (I don't know how to spell it).
the first night when we come over on our holidays my Father-in-law always calls over the Uncles, brothers, etc. and makes this for all of us (I buy the beer/whiskey, of course).  First time I  saw it I was waiting to see them cook it right up until the point when they handed it to me in a bowl, .. Raw !!.
It's Raw beef, the cow's stomach, with Chilli's, spring onions, some black stuff in a bag (stomach fluid ?), blood (i think), lime juice, nam pla.  And they eat it with something that looks like river weeds.  But it is VERY nice.
Anyone else heard of this ?
