I guess I should introduce myself!
« on: October 04, 2011, 04:03:12 AM »
Please excuse my laps in manners ....posting without first introducing myself.  Been a lurker for a while and a member for a little while but never posted until a couple days ago. The 'Thai Regional Airlines'  WTF post.  Got the cart before the horse .....hate it when that happens.
Anyway.... Im Daniel or Kodan as my nick indicates. From Alaska ...been coming to Thailand for about 4 years....Spending most of that time in Buriram and recently Mueang Buriram since March. Generally hang out in Nong Pai Noi or stay at the Thep.
Currently working on a K1 visa for the gf but plan on retiring in Buriram.  Is it me or does Buriram City have the highest per capita rating for gold shops? loco

Welcome Koda.

Does Buriram have any gold shops ?

I must admit that I have a blinkered approach where gold shops are concerned and have never actually been in one in Buriram !

I can appreciate the blinkered approach!

I've got blinkers for gold stores, clothes stores, shoe stores...the list goes.

Welcome Kodan, I'm from the Pacific Northwest as well, Washington and Oregon. Starting to get a bit cold in your parts about now, yeah?

Yeh I have been in a few myself. Its funny....My gf spent most of her time in BKK even though she is from Buriram. When we are in the city I can ask her where is 'this or that'.....typical reply .."Mai Loo".   However if I ask her where the nearest gold shop is ....."bai song loi met..leeo sai ...nueng loi met doo kwah. Row bai reo reo"......And THAT is how I wound up in that gold shop! (sorry for the poor phonetics)
I also have a 'binkered approach' to Big C.  I prefer Tevakit

As to Nok's nickers....."one Yank and they're off" .....Im just gonna say I wont be droppin the soap around Nok :D

Thanks for all the 'welcomes' and the replies. I think this is gonna be a fun group to get to know.

If you read the initial post Ken, you will see that Kodan mentions obtaining a visa for the GF.

I had the same initial  thoughts as you  Ken- but now I am baffled by Kodans soapy comment!

Just because we are all He-men doesn't mean we can't have a joke

As for your initial thoughts....... I did say on the Coffeecorner thread jokingly

I hope  you are not trying to use euphemisms, make innuendos and para-praxis's to suggest Nok is a Lady Boy and that I may be gay.  nono
She has two children and they both love their Dad Mum
I'm sure Kodan has picked up on this joke and was only having a joke back, sounds like he is fitting in nicely to me  thumbup

Problem is Ken that I, unlike some, do NOT read ALL the rubbish that is posted on forums. In fact I generally just skim through the 2 local ones and comment when nothing better to do!

What did you all do before the PC came along?

I believe you made 5 post's on that thread on 02/10/11,so you wouldn't have had to read the whole forum ,just that thread of Coffeecorner's  :P
