Massive signs of support for the Palestinians on the floor of the General Assembly.   It shows that Israel and the United States are somewhat isolated.    One result it will have, or so it seems likely, is to force Netanyahu into talks with the Palestinians;  he's been procrastinating, partly on the grounds that the Palestinians are divided among themselves, so who do you talk to?

It seems to be one of those situations where both sides are so busy blaming the other that they won't sit down and talk.  If they do, there's hope for a solution;  if they don't, there's none.  Frankly, Almog, I don't know who is in the right;  instinctively, my sympathy is with the weaker of the two parties.

(BTW, I check the forum daily, often more than once;  I simply haven't posted much because there's been little to interest me)

Isolated? You forgot whole of the EU, Canada and Australia, and the Palestines should first sort out their internal affairs,  between Fattah and Hammas I mean, terrorists against terrorists.

Certainly hope that Palestine is successful with their application.Though fear this will not be the case and that further unrest will break out.
