The shouts of the 1,000 strong crowd builds to a single roar. The tormented wail of a recorded pi chawa (a reed pipe), surges around the Mae Sot bullring. Sweat-soaked men hurry to level sand and prepare the ring for the next contestants. The fight organiser, Sutat, looks relieved as he surveys the packed stadium.
