Old film but have you seen "The Rise of the Footsoldier." Great Brit film.
That's the film about football hooliganism that ends with the killing of Tony Tucker, Patrick Tate and Craig Rolfe in a Range Rover in Rettendon.Essex.On the same theme is Bonded by Blood which a British Gangster type movie also  :)
Maybe you want to tell us how the movie ends?!  slapfight Don't be a spoiler!  knuppel2

Anybody with half a brain knows Tony Tucker, Patrick Tate and Craig Rolfe get killed in a Range Rover in Rettendon( as its a true story and had large coverage in the press ) and it won't spoil the end of the film  :P

Last night I watched Titanic

It's about a ship that gets hit by an Iceberg and at the end of the movie it sinks :ohmy:

OH SORRY Admin ,that's another movie I've spoiled for you by telling you the ending  :laugh: :laugh: :laugh:

What a spoiler!!!!!!! boxingguy winkboy

OK, I watched the movie 'Takers' you recommended me to watch. love5

Takers

TAKERS, directed by John Luessenhop, revolves around a notorious group of criminals (Idris Elba, Paul Walker, T.I., Chris Brown, Hayden Christensen and Michael Ealy) who continue to baffle police by pulling off perfectly executed bank robberies. They are in and out like clockwork, leaving no evidence behind and laying low in between heists. But when they attempt to pull off one last job with more money at stake than ever before, the crew may find their plans interrupted by a hardened detective (Matt Dillon) who is hell-bent on solving the case.

Classic crime action movie. Even though the plot is usual its a good movie.

Rating: 8.5/10. swordfight

Last night I watched The Room mate

As it was in the top 10 I thought I would give it a viewing and to be honest apart from the eye candy ( Leighton Meester,Minka Kelly,Danneel Ackles and Minka Kelly icon_heart ) it's just a new variation on Single White Female .It's slow at times but for the most part it's routine and devoid of thrills or any real action.Not a great film but would make an OK TV movie........6/10  tired1

Here is the trailer .....

Tonight I watched Soul Surfer

This film is about the true story of Bethany Hamilton ,a teenage surfer girl who summons the courage to go back into the ocean after losing an arm in a shark attack.Although a great story the film overemphasises the religious element  for me,plus the family was just to nice to be true and sickly sweet like the Brady Bunch.... which I found off putting and unreal. sick1
I found  '127 hours' a much more thought provoking film than this one but I'm sure some will like Soul Surfer . :)
This could have been a great movie like the true story but Its a disappointing  6.5/10 for me I'm afraid   ;D

Last night I watched Dale and Tucker Vs Evil

This movie is so bad its good ,a few times I was crying with laughter  :laugh:
The basic plot is that Tucker (Alan Tudyk) and Dale (Tyler Labine) are two not-completely-bright but sweet Virginia hill-billies looking forward to a vacation in their "fixer upper" cabin in the woods, and there kicking back and doing nothing more stimulating than fishing and drinking beer. To their dismay, a group of spoiled, college students decide to camp next door to their cabin. The students get it into their heads that Tucker & Dale are deranged, chainsaw-wielding serial killers, and react accordingly. :biggrin:
There is definitely blood and gore involved, but.......funny blood and gore. This is really a surprisingly good movie. I enjoyed it but them I have got a weird sense of humour ...8/10  thumbup

Tonight I watched The Company Men
The plot centres around a group of men and their families who live the high life working in Corporate America. One by one three of the men, 12 and 20 year veterans in the Company get laid off and this movie centre's around their lives and the lives of those around them. Ben Affleck plays family man who when he loses his job does not believe that the company 'betrayed' him. The downsizing of families, incomes, and the morale of the characters is well documented. Cinematography and locations are great as well as the roles of Kevin Costner and others. The recession in America between 2007 and 2010 is covered in the bylines and the excess and greed of Corporate America is captured succinctly. The realisation that a company can throw one out when you don't expect it to makes a job for life rather an odd expectation. Kevin Costner plays the role of Ben Affleck's brother in law who runs a minor construction company.
I enjoyed Ben Afflect's part he played in The Town( if you haven't seen it you must ) but I found this movie a bit slow.Good acting ,great directing and cinematography but it could have been better 7/10  :)

Today I watched Born into Brothels
After I mentioned this movie in another thread I thought I would give it a viewing .
Zana Briski, a documentary photographer, went to Calcutta to photograph prostitutes. While there, she befriended their children and offered to teach the children photography to reciprocate being allowed to photograph their mothers. The children were given cameras so they could learn photography and possibly improve their lives. Much of their work was used in the film, and the film-makers recorded the classes as well as daily life in the red light district. The children's work was exhibited, and one boy was even sent to a photography conference in Amsterdam. Briski also recorded her efforts to place the children in boarding schools.

This is a moving  documentary and I can see why it won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature in 2004.Out of the 9 children that  Zana tried to help,one ( Avijit Halder) has gone on to study at New York University.The sad thing is that after giving these children the chance of a lifetime most( 7 out of 9 ) of the parents asked for their children to come back and help and work in the slums/brothels that they came from. :(
This film can be watched in 6 parts on You Tube or can be found from the normal movie source's...... 8/10 for a compelling story

Here's part 1 of 6

Last night I watched Cross

Cross is a film of the comic book, starring Brian Austin Green,Vinnie Jones, Tom Sizemore, Jake Busey and Lori Heuring.
When beautiful, young women start disappearing from the streets of LA, it’s time for good-guy Callan (a.k.a. Cross ,Brian Austin Green) and his crew of weapons experts to kick into high gear and uncover the mystery. Granted incredible power by his ancient Celtic cross, Callan must fight to stop an immortal Viking Gunnar ( Vinnie Jones )from destroying mankind. :laugh:
This comic book stuff with a comic book script,its all tongue in cheek and I can only assume it was supposed to look crass 6/10  ::)

This afternoon I watched The Delemma

It's about  confirmed bachelor Ronny(Vince Vaughn) and happily married Nick(Kevin James) have been through thick and thin. Now partners in an auto design firm, the two pals are vying to land a dream project that would launch their company. With Ronny's girlfriend, Beth, and Nick's wife, Geneva, by their sides, they're unbeatable. But Ronny's world is turned upside down when he inadvertently sees Geneva out with another man and makes it his mission to get answers. As the amateur investigation dissolves his world into mayhem, he learns that Nick has a few secrets of his own. Now, with the clock ticking and pressure mounting on the biggest presentation of their careers, Ronny must decide what will happen if he reveals the truth to his best friend. :ohmy:
The whole moral of the story is what would you do if you caught your best friend's wife cheating. Do you have the tenacity to tell your best friend or just sweep it under the carpet ???
To be honest Kevin James was great in The King of Queens and Vince Vaughn was at his best in the Wedding Crashers and he hasn't done much of any note since ,including this one.Some may like The Dilemma but it just didn't connect with me.6/10  :)

You'll notice that the ratings seem to be skewed towards 5 and up a bit. That's probably because I try to avoid stinkers ( but there is always one that slips though the net ), but also because I look at anything below 5 to be a "failing grade"... and some movies don't even deserve a 1 (I Spit on your Grave comes to mind  sick1 )

So .....

5 = Give it a miss
6 = OK if you don't have anything better to do
7 = OK worth a viewing
8 = Good movie.
9 = Great movie.
10 = Outstanding movie that must be seen. :biggrin:
