    North and I-Sarn are experiencing very cold weather

MAHASARAKAM, 8 December 2010 (NNT) - The Meteorological Department has warned the denizens of the upper North to brace for chilly weather, as the temperature is expected to drop another 4-6 degree Celsius; while many in I-Sarn are already donning winter clothing to keep themselves warm.

The coldest weather in 30 years in Mahasarakam province has prompted authorities to urge people to keep themselves warm to avoid catching a cold, and look out for their health. According to the meteorologist, the cold front is expected to last longer this year than it did last year.

Meanwhile, in Kalasin, the mercury has dropped to 17 degree Celsius in the province, and to between 10-12 degree in mountainous areas. As cold as it is, the temperature has been predicted to drop further in the next few days. Children and the elderly in 13 districts are said to have already come down with respiratory and flu symptoms.

The lowest average temperature of 16 degree Celsius has been recorded in Chiang Mai. It is even much colder at the top of the mountain which has lately seen the mercury plunge to as low as 6 degree Celsius.

We have had a few old people die in the village already,these cold nights ( 18 c Brrr! ) soon polish of the old sick ones :-( !!

Haven't had a funeral since last weekend... we thinned them out in the rainy season!  (This is getting a bit sick, isn't it, Alan?)
