Wine in Buriram.
« on: October 21, 2010, 04:19:06 PM »
Ok, so we all know there are various wine kinds available in Buriram area; 'Big C', 'Makro' and other minimarts, what I would like to discuss here is on the quality and prices of the wine sold here:

Lets start from the cheapest wine I have found in Buriram:

Mont Clair, Red Wine,South Africa: Cost 295 Baht in 'Big C' & 'Makro'.

*Sold in small bottles of 375ml in '7-11' stores for 149 Baht.

This wine is OK for its price, some mild peppery finish, drinkable but surely not the optimized choice.. scatter

Please post here your own recommendation.  party9

Hey admin ~~ you've been done that bottle is only half full.

For myself I like the Charles House Red or White from Makro. alcoholic

Most importantly it comes in a 5 litre bottle with a screw top! party12  about 850 baht a go!

The problem with the big bottle is that I'll surely not leave him alone for so long until empty.... hahaha

I like to buy the regular size and drink it slowly from time to time.

I know the Charles house but this time wanted to try this one because of its attractive price..

Its OK wine but I agree with you the Charles House is better, I once met a French guy in the supermarket who gave me a full detailed lecture of the wine history and what can be called WINE and what is cannot be called wine in any condition, his first rule was of course.... MADE IN FRANCE! ;)

I drink wine from time to time, since drinking Beer is sometime somehow too heavy..

I too, drink the Mont Clair Red. BigC does a 5 litre box for around 980b (I think).
Its an OK wine and makes a pleasant change from Leo.

There are better wines but both wines mentioned above are decent low cost wines,
I agree it makes a good change from drinking beer and I think its even healthy if not drink more than lets say, 1-3 glasses of red wine a day.  party5
