Region 2 Police raid Central Pattaya “short time” Bar

Police raided a popular bar in Soi 6 in Central Pattaya, in the early hours of Thursday Morning. Police Colonel Akaradaert from the Police Region 2 Special Crimes Unit led the raid of the Mandarin Bar. The operation was organized following reports the establishment was being used as a brothel.
A foreign operative was used and was armed with marked bank notes which were allegedly handed to an employee of the bar who accompanied the man to a room above the bar which was used for “short-time” encounters.
As soon as the money was handed over, a signal was given to Police who then stormed the Bar and detained everyone inside.
The Manager of the Bar, Khun Oothaiwan aged 31 and 16 employees were arrested and taken to Pattaya Police Station.
The Manager was charged with allowing the premise to be used as a brothel and the girls were charged with prostitution offences.
We are unable to explain why other bars that offer similar services to foreign patrons along the street were not targeted.

Not so Mr Scot. Practically every bar on Soi 6 is a brothel (or so I am reliably informed!)

I would imagine it was a case of "tea money" not having been paid.

And who do you suppose this "foreign operative" might have been?

"Foreign Volunteer Tourist Cops" have been used in Patt's on drug sting operations before. 

I think it's just wrong!
