Bangkok Post: Newspaper section: Motoring After nearly a year of teasers and previews, the Ford Fiesta is finally here. Due in Thai showrooms on Sept 2, the market's latest B-segment contender seems quite a promising car in design as well as substance.
The five-door hatchback, in particular, is very stylish against all its rivals. That also includes the Mazda 2 which shares platform and internal giblets with the Fiesta.
Despite having a history of product association, Ford and Mazda hatchbacks look very different in the skin, pretty much the same how bespoke the bigger C-segment Focus and 3 are in appearance.
Distinctive design cues of the Fiesta include the swoopy lights and profile. And although debatable, the chromed air vents up front and roof spoiler at the back add up to the Fiesta's sense of occasion.
Ford has also gone on the offensive with the Fiesta's interior. The jagged centre console and angular instrument dials look completely different from those of its competition and, in fact, go well with the exterior's attractive theme.
