Meteo Dept: Heavy rainfalls nationwide.
BANGKOK, 4 July 2010 (NNT) - The Thai Meteorological Department has issued a weather forecast warning of heavy rainfalls in practically every region.
The Thai Meteorological Department has indicated that a moderate southwestern monsoon was passing through the Andaman Sea, and the winds from the East Coast were sweeping through the upper part of the country and the Gulf of Thailand, which would contribute to heavy rainfalls in all regions throughout the country in the days ahead.
People in Utaradit, Nakhon Sawan, Tak, Lampang, Uthai Thani, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Nakhon Nayok and Prachinburi have been told to brace for heavy rainfalls and sudden flashfloods during the next few days.
The department has also warned trawler owners to take extra precautions when they go offshore thanks to high waves across the Andaman Sea and the upper part of the Gulf of Thailand.
