car hire in khon kaen

ok, this may be removed, but at least some of you may read it!

Anyway car hire in Khon Kaen avoid these guys at all costs! everything was cool, I had agreed a hire of 3 days. They deliver to hotel in Khon Kaen and pick up from hotel in Pattaya. Drop off time 6pm so pick up time 6pm 3 days later. agreed, YES! explain both in Thai and English at least 4 times.

So set off next morning after breakfast  party15, yep improtant meal breakfast, though this morning it was only toast and tea, had to many cooked breakfasts last few days!

So heading to Pattaya from Khon Kaen, best way route 2 followed by route 304 then route331 and when around 40km out side Sattihip take a right and your at Patttaya. Straight forward, no hassle drive.... Well apart from the odd crazy Thai driver deciding he can overtake everything in the 2 lanes by going down what could only be described as the hard shoulder. cool until he realized that a car had stopped on said hard shoulder for big family to stretch legs, all around 4 kids and quite a few adults. Luckily enough he did stop in time but he no longer had round tyres!!! smilenod

Anyway this trend seem to repeat its self quite frequently luckily no injuries that we witnessed, I came to the conclusion that it must be something to do with a very annoying habit that some drivers have of sitting in outside lane doing 70kmph!!!

Anyway I digress.

So no probs, car drove well and to probs. Day Three arrives.......................... :-\

Gf, had a couple of phone calls early in morning, but we couldn't work out from who, so we were up early and decided to go for breakfast. When wandering back from having breakfast in a nice little place, say around 8:20 am there was this Thai bloke standing beside car! Yep he had travelled overnight from Khon Kaen to collect said vehicle. Felt sorry for him really! He had instructions to collect vehicle and get back to Khon Kaen, as vehicle was hired out later that day. lol Well "WAS" I told him to come back at around 5pm to get vehicle.

NO NO Must HAVE NOW!..... err! No, "ok you speak boss". sure no prob  :)

Anyway after a long conversation with someone in Thai getting upset and shouting down phone, and threatened to call police. "sure please do, because if you don't I will was my reply.

Anyway police eventually turned up at around 11:45am and heard story from him  and question me and gf and got our version.

Anyway to shorten this story, police man said I was right and he had to wait.   :D :D :D

His boss was furious, but luckily enough I do not know much Thai so did not understand what she said!

So after police man had said his peace and disappear, I relented and gave the man the keys. The day had just about passed and we did not have any plans for the day, so would have only driven down the coast, but that would have been early in the day.

Anyway Just a word of warning avoid these car hire people in Khon Kaen, not sure name as card is in Thai, but phone number is...... mmmm better ask ADMIN first before posting., don't want to get into trouble.

And TBWG story telling is far better than mine, I will have to practice more.  punk

I wouldn't dream of deleting this message, first because its a free board to discuss about things around us and also because its a classic example why you should have rented a vehicle from Buriram Expats.
Thats exactly the kinds of things and games others playing while we never take advantage on customers or take a vehicle before agreed time (unless the customer want to).
It all comes down to values of honesty and integrity.

We have a very strong commitment to our customers especially when it comes to maintenance and insurance.

Next time treat yourself with Buriram Expats, You deserve better. thumbup
