"khong wun" (Desert) thai desert buriram talad market Thailand.

I like to buy this desert in the night market in Buriram city, the market is located on Jira road, you can see it in Buriram city map:
http://www.buriramexpats.com/wp-content/gallery/maps/buriram-map-2010-buriramexpats.jpg

This desert is based on milk and cost only 15 Baht and is very tasty, light and not too sweet with fruits on top.
There are others in different color than white, such as Pink (strewberry flavor), Brown (chocolate), Green (Kantalup/Thai Melon), etc..  yum1

The shop is located on the entrance of the night market "ready food" stalls just behind the biggest chicken/somtam shop (You can't miss it really!).  party6

Freshy, the pictures look fantastic, I like it very much even I'm not a big fan of sea food / fishes.

Ok, now its my turn. fastclapping

I took a video of my neighbour doing "Ho mok no mai" Bamboo with pork and red curry.

First need to prepare the mixture which contain Bamboo, Red Curry ("Prik Geng"), Coconut milk, "Bai Yo" and Pork.

Than make small pocket from green banana leaf and cook it using steaming pot.

Very tasty. Bon appetit.  scatter

Hi all,

I went to 7-11 the other day, found the same desert but little bit bigger with more fruits.
Tastes the same but this one is more gelly, cost 20 Baht.

Try it, better than eating chocolate or other sweet deserts available in the supermarket. happy2

The Ultimate Thai dish!!  iconurgent

There is no Thai to be found that does not like SOM TAM (Papaya salad), this is a spicy salad made of green papaya.

Som tam or som tum (Thai: ส้มตำ, pronounced [sôm tam]) also known as tam bak hung (Isan: ตำบักหุ่ง, pronounced [tam bàk hùŋ]) is a spicy salad made from shredded unripened papaya.
Som tam is derived from a traditional dish in Laos called tam mak hoong.

There are so many kinds of Som Tam, I can only count few of them:
Kratiyam (with Garlic).
Taley (with sea food squids).
Poo Pala (with Crab).
Tam Pa ( mix of everything).
Tam Suat (with noodles inside).
Tam Tai (with peanuts).

Usually Thai like to eat Som Tam with rice or sticky rice (kao niyao) and deep it into the salad juice to get the spice... here in the pictures I show you "kao niyao ping" grilled sticky rice and "kab moo" crispy pork skin.
Hot Kao niyao is great to eat with Som Tam

*Don't forget to keep drinking water on the table, just for any case.. hehe..  steamingMad

"Pla Som" ปลาส้ม, fried sour fish.

I like this fish sometimes, only when in the mood for sour and salty fish, nice with chilly ("prig pong" with "miki" souce goes well), hot fresh jasmin rice and thats an ideal simple Thai dish.  jumping8

"Ice cream kati" ไอศรีมกะทิ / Coconut milk ice cream with bread.

Price: 10~ Baht.

Very tasty, light Ice cream in Coconut flavor, usually made in 2 kinds of flavors:
Coconut and Chocolate, but it can be any ice cream, usually comes with SWEET STICKY RICE UNDER THE ICE CREAM!  jumping8

On top comes roasted peanuts, Yellow Soy beans, you can change/add chocolate sauce as well.  thumbup

Usually sold by people going around the streets/villages using Carts/Bicycle/Motorbike..

Thai people love to eat Ice cream in small buns like you see in the picture, I have to admit its little bit odd in the first time but when you get used to it, you will find it wonderful combination, especially when you take bite of both together, the bread breaks the cool shock of the ice cream.

TRY IT!  happy3
