January exports up 30.8%

The country’s exports rose 30.8 per cent to US$13.72 billion in January compared to the same month last year, Commerce Minister Porntiva Nakasai said on Friday.

The month’s imports totaled US$13.21 billion, an increase of 44.8 per cent, giving the country a trade surplus of US$516 million, Mrs Porntiva said.

The minister expects exports to increase by 14 per cent to US$170 billion this year, as targeted.

They are to be used as accomodation for Eastern Europeans between France and England, who want UK taxpayers money.
