Hi Dave

Is it secure as I bought an Iphone last week and I have broken it already! >:(

It is a fairly high value item and  I would hate it to go AWOL! Its bad enough breaking the screen without losing it entirely!

Try to pack it wrapped with some clothes protecting the iPhone + hard pack.
The post office does have an option to insure it as well, but this you'll have to check directly with them.

Service Name : Insurance ( ไปรษณีย์รับประกัน )
http://www.thailandpost.com/product_servicedetail_en.asp?cat_id=7&product_id=44-S-000019

Service Information : Insured Mail provides maximum security for your mailed items. It gives senders written evidence of the entire mailing process, starting from mailing through to delivery. This service is appropriate for sending important documents and valuable items, requiring special protection. In case there is any loss or damage caused by Thailand Post, you will receive compensation as follows:

- Domestic – not over Bt 5,000
- International - not over Bt 53,340

Service Station : Any post office

Dave EMS is similar to registered mail. It will require a signature at the other end. I beleive that even uninsured EMS post is trackable via the net.

I have used it quite a lot in the last few years for one thing or another, and never had a drama.

Admin idea about wrapping it is good. But rather than clothes, I would use bubble wrap ;)

The normal Thai postal service is good. I sent a package to South Africa the other day and it took only four days to deliver. Best I've experienced so far.
