This hotel is located in Thatum. If you come from Surin and get into Thatum, cross the first set of traffic lights, turn right after 30 meters and after 500 meters, you will see the hotel sign.


They have a swimming pool, a parking, a 24 hours services. Taxi, laudry, fishing and others are available. Each room have European style bathroom, TV and refrigerator. Air conditionning or fan is available.

The general consensus is these three hotel mentioned above are in the reverse order for quality.

The Maneerote is out of the way and 99.9% for Thai business people. No one speaks Engish there(I think).

Thong Tarin is OK, a bit tired, very Good location & has 'goldfish bowl' massage at rear.

Majestic is very nice & quite new,Good pool and OK location.

These are just my personal opinions and those of most farangs in Surin.

It seems that the most popular hotel by far now, is the Majestic Twin appartments. Fairly newly built and the rooms are very nice. Great location down the end of Soi Cola (entertainment St). Rooms are usually about 550b

A visit in MueanFun Resort, Chumphonburi, Surin:

On the Boat racing event on Satuk, Buriram, we took the chance to give a visit to MueanFun Resort.
The resort is located only 18 kms from Satuk district,Buriram, so even though officially Chumphonburi district belongs to Surin province, it is bordering Buriram province area.
The drive from Satuk was only 20 minutes driving, arriving to the resort I was very impressed, the resort has beautiful garden, all the rooms are tidily clean and the area is well organized, the special thing there is the area the resort is located, very natural, relaxing area, providing the services offered there, including WiFi Internet connection,and more.

We had a great dinner there and really enjoyed the company, Thank you for your kind hospitality.

I would defiantly give a second visit and recommend you to stay in MueanFun Resort.

I spent four nights at Amarin Hotel, quite close to Petchkasem, a bit
further down the soi to the left. Very basic, just a TV and a fan (be
very careful, I hurt my fingers TWICE on the fan, it's only about 20cm
above your head!) but if you only need to sleep then it's OK. Quite
cheap at 220 baht a night, although I heard from another farang that
there is an even cheaper hotel close to the railway station...
