New Place?

Has it moved from opposite Siam bank?

When I visited it last about 3 months ago it was still there, so where will the new location be so that I can top up on blueberry pies  hungry

Yes,it has moved from opposite SCB bank to the new lake area.
apparently the place not called "red ribbon" anymore and the new place called
"Sawatdii krap garden" and its true, the place is kind of garden half open place,
prices are fair and the food is also good enough.

So,what we have here?great place to have a beer. party15
Good food by the famous chef Chris?  party10

Hi

When you say up by the lake do you mean where the French restaurant Vinyl  party2 & Paddys Irish bar are? party4

If so things could be looking up in that area! party1 party3

The place is on the other side of the lake (opposite Vinyl & Irish Bar).

Went there earlier this week for a "supposed" opening party. javascript:void(0); Nice place, but no party and no freebies (ie buffet). Promised live music did not arrive before I left with some friends.

After went to Paddy's. No customers. Were told no food as boss away for 1 week!! Menu available. Phew! pang mak mak!"

Now too many places chasing too few customers, and almost certainly one or more will fold.

Have a gut feeling that Chris should have stayed where he was instead of relocating. Big restaurant many overheads and needs a lot of customers to cover the overheads.

But good luck to everyone. We farangs need them and therefore must do all we can to support them  javascript:void(0);

BETTER TO STAY SMALL AND SUCCESSFUL

On July 26th I wrote "Have a gut feeling that Chris should have stayed where he was instead of relocating."

I now have more that just a gut feeling! Yesterday went there to have lunch. Seemingly the restaurant is now only open in the evening, and the new Norwegian partner's wife said that this would depend on whether the staff turned up for work, as they had not been paid for their previous work.

No sign of Chris or his wife, there were no pies, cakes or bread for sale, and more alarmingly, there was nobody partaking of a beer. In the old centre of town location there were always many farangs eating and drinking at lunchtime and afternoons.

Any news of where Chris has resurfaced, if indeed he has? confused3

So where have Chris and Wan gone? Have they/will they re-open their bakery as before? I understand that the 2 wives could not get along! Just hope Chris did not get his fingers burnt too much.

The "Red-Ribbon" is not exist anymore, and the new place got his new name of course "sawatdee krap" ..

The SAWATDI KRAP is now working back again with foriegn food in the menu as well as Thai food.

Management has changed and now only the Norwegian connection is in power..  party14

The chef is now replaced as well to a new one (wifey says Thai food is better then before.. confused5 ).

Seems like the place is going in the right direction together with new prices as well you'll find this place convenience to spend fun time over there.

Wish the owner best luck.

Some pictures of the place as well.

Seems to have gone to the dogs in the last month. Some issue with westerners avoiding the place (I am not privy as to why) but with Paddy's seemingly permanently shut, there is only Vinyl and that is not a pub or a place to spend any time really.

Music went 2 weeks ago, bar moved last week, no westerners most time I go past or drop in. Seems like the young missus with a kiddy is "in charge" and driving it quickly into the ground ! Some none too friendly Thais hanging around as well. Not the right thing to do if you want the western coin.

He tried to explain me where Chris's new place but I failed to understand, its seems like the place is between jira road to the ring road leading from the famous elephant roundabout to Big-C road.

 confused2  party3 Where??
