BEST THAI RESTAURANTS IN BURIRAM.
« on: January 17, 2008, 11:37:27 AM »
Well, I think thats not hard to find;thai food in Buriram..However there are always speciel places where they serve tasty, clean thai food.

I recommend a thai restaurant near bas-station called "KRUA-BOKASON" (in free translation to english: Bus-station Kitchen).
Simple restaurant but absolutly the best food in Buriram under the category of "Thai food in Buriram".
Try,you'll not be dissapointed.
 ;)

Of course..please add more places you can recommend.

Hi

What about Book & Bed not sure you would call it an authentic Thai restaurant but it would get my vote.

The name Versailles for a Thai restaurant is unusual any French connection? (Great film by the way)

Hi

Well today on recommendation from a friend I had lunch at a garage  confused4  Well at the BRY Honda HQ anyway! and what a pleasant surprise. happy2 This superb new building along from the railway station is equipped with a coffee shop and an excellent restaurant.

It is spotlessly clean, air conditioned has good furniture, cutlery, crockery a nice atmosphere and pleasant efficient staff and the equal if not better than a lot of European restaurants all at a Thai price.  Nearly forgot the grub was great as well. hungry1

Before anyone asks I am not a Honda employee and unfortunately I did not get a freebie either! it was just a pleasant surprise to see something well run and organised all at an economical price. The downside not much of a Farang menu but the Thai dishes were superb.

TBWG sawadi   (very satisfied customer)  give it a try party8

Anyway, looks very high class and expensive place especialy to Isaan/Buriram area.
The place was empty for the obvious reason, nodoby sees the place is even there !!
 confused3

Hi Admin

The Boss lady had Somtam and a plate of Crispy pork scratchings (UK name) I had Chicken and cashew nuts happy2, both came with plenty of rice and I had an iced cappuccino. But also lots of iced water supplied all for Baht 275

Aloi mak mak

PS: while I was there at least a dozen other people in there eating. It is well hidden but well worth seeking out!

It probably is, if you are used to sitting by the side of the road fanning flies off your food whilst sitting on a plastic chair that is likely to collapse at any moment and trying to eat with a paper thin fork that points in several directions as soon as you try to use it.

Myself i'd rather pay a bit extra for something that will not see me spending the next few hours in the hong nam! party13

Whilst I fully accept your point of view, there is a significant price difference between what you paid, and what one would pay for the same at the side of the road eating with the flies.  There are many clean and respectable eating establishments where one would expect to pay a middle price. As for possible stomach problems, these infections can be picked up anywhere, including first class restaurants!

Hi

Appreciate your point but I still don't think Baht 275 is that expensive for a good meal and drinks for 2.

Does this post cover Buriram province?

If so there is a new restaurant open on Prakhonchai Lake (near the post Office). Named Paradise Lake Restaurant, and run by Danish Lars and his lady,  it serves good food, very cheap (from 25bt), and best of all draft Leo beer.

Give it a try if you're in town.

Hi all,

nice to hear about the new place on Prakhonchai Lake (near the post Office).

Wish "Paradise Lake" Restaurant best luck.  party5

I went to "Lakeside" restaurant few days ago, this place is near the "salaloy" river just before "Friendz" restaurant on the left side.(see our Buriram map for directions).
Very nice place to sit in,I would say even romantic something, especially inside the restaurant,it designed as a natural style, have a terrace as well with a great view on the street and the lake itself.I recommend, that evening was a great breeze as well so..we kind of liked it.the food is basically Thai but you can get a steak as well if you want (English menu is available as well).
We ate Thai food and it was very reasonably priced. (Example:my wife's ate kapao-moo+kai dao = 55 baht).
Beer,of course the beer: No Beer Chang ! confused4 Ordered LEO and that costed 70 Baht /Big bottle.  party3
