Forgot to add. We prefer rural to city living. (But then again where can you get City land nowadays for 500k a Rai ;) )

Our search is over YES !!!!!! (bigsmile)

We have found our Rural (chanoted) land. It's 4.5 Rai and is located only a couple of Kms outside of Krasang. It definitely needs "cleaning" and some landfill, so we will be able to start building around the same time next year.

The price we are paying (per Rai) is well under the max. price we were willing to pay :)

Guys,

sorry to revive this old topic, but we are on the Hunt again for land to start our next project.

Size of plot: +/- 2 Rai land (but not less then 1 rai and not more then 4)
Location: Must be Rural
Near: Krasang/Lam Duan but wiling to look further away
Must have: Electric nearby (water not necessarily as can drill well)
Price ? Up to 500k per rai max (but with that price must be filled in and ready to build in)

I know it will be difficult as the rice planting is in full swing, but we are not in a hurry.

So if someone knows someone who is willing to sell please let me know.

Thanks, really appreciated

Great luck to you.

We are daily offered land at stupid prices, basically 600k Baht a rai.  Unfortunately I paid that price for a parcel I needed to build, but otherwise I it pass.

My view is that 100K baht a rai my be OK, if the land is right.

Totally impossible to put a price on land.

To say 100k a rai without saying where it is; what is already there with regards to water, electricity and access is not possible.

Look at the land at the Pattaraborpit junction as an example. 6mil a rai.

My wife has rice field land with water and electricity and has been offered 500k a rai. This land is 1.5kmsfrom the main road.

The best bet for the OP is to make enquiries locally. Go to the Zabsa ba in Krasang any evening, with exception of Sunday, and ask the locals.

I am not looking at land which is near a city, more like a small village and more "former" rice field land.

I have talked to the locals in Krasang and they gave us

a- a plot direct next to the railroad Surin/Buriram
b- a plot very near to the garbage dump :(
c- some plot, was cheap too, but cheap for a reason as it needed at least 4 meters of landfill :(

Both A and B were ridiculous expensive with the B land (imagine that) being the most expensive

As said, we are not in any hurry

Shame you drew a blank. I only suggested going there as there are more people who go to Zabsa that live in Krasang/Lamduan then there are on this forum.

You could always go to the get together that is in Lamduan most Sundays. The guys in Zabsa will be able to point you in the right direction.

Another approach is to look for the local money lenders, they will give money for land paper.  They may have someone that hasn't paid in a while and will sell, that how I got the land for my house.

Now we have people coming weekly to try to get us to buy their land.

@Urleft.

Thanks for the tip, yeah that is useful but I hesitate to deal with those guys. If you know what I mean ;)

@Starman.

Thanks for the tips. I know the Farang locals could (maybe) point me in the "right" direction. That is how a friend of mine got his land. The land we looked at in the previous post was not "advised" by the Farang Locals, but the Thai Locals.

Every time we visit Krasang and drive home we pass that land near the Garbage Dump and still wonder how could they offer that and at that price.

We have land in the village, were we now live, but we (I) don't want to utilize that as it is more then enough to feed my BIL's family and our self with rice and to give my BIL a bit of a profit.

Ideally, I would be looking for land approx 1-2 km outside of a Village, preferably not bothered by Neighbors.

What I mean by the way, with must have Electricity is, I wouldn't mind to buy a couple of additional electric poles and (maybe) a Transformer to get electricity to the land, but I am not Interested in a piece of land where the nearest Electricity Poles are 2++ km's away :D
