I think today it will be a challenge to live on 300b a month!
Anyone have input regarding the very low cost of living on this budget?
Is it possible even for a farang? I doubt it.
Sawadi
300b a month is impossible. 300b a day is maybe possible if you live with absolutely no "western" comforts/ amenities like
Car
Motorcycle
Beer
Western food of any type
Children &/or partner.

Sounds to me like an existence rather than living. I don't think any sane person would CHOOSE to live like that. They would need to return to the comfort of their homeland and health benefits, etc.

300 baht is doable with some of the above too. The problem that I think most people count is alcohol. We all like a drink, some more than others, but without it then 300 baht a day is more than enough. I'm not saying that you should force yourself to abstain from a beer or two and be miserable but those that don't drink have a benefit. One can have a motorbike and eat western food too. If I did not drink then I could live well on 300 baht a day. One must also factor in how many things have been purchased and already paid for. If you have a bike and no HP payments then running it is not going to cost more than say 50 baht a day.

Amenities bills are not high. I don't have aircon. Not because I can't but because I don't like it. It plays havoc with my eyes. I spend most of my waking hours outside or at least in an area that is open to the outside. My domestic electricity bill is around 400 baht a month.

I believe that the OP was based on one person living so if you have family then that would be family members times 300 baht. In my case that would be 1200 baht a day. A figure that we are nowhere near. We are well under that amount.
