Hi Mitch. Regrettably the answer is yes. They have been introduced to 50 countries including Thailand.

One of the greatest eco disasters ever to hit Australia. Any native animal like snakes, birds, crocodiles etc will die after eating a cane toad. Domestic dogs, cats etc are also vunerable.

Cane toads are highly poisonous, and have virtually no natural predators. Google has some beaut websites describing this formidable animal.

A true pest, and should be destroyed if found in your backyard. Freezing is the "humane" way, but running them over with your car also works pretty well.

Make no mistake, they will eventually have a disasterous impact on Thailand's native animal population, just as it has in Australia.

Thank you, Smooth!  That's what I was afraid of.  But it's helpful to know.  Something poisoned one of my dogs to death and almost killed another dog twice.  I know TIT and it could be rat poison, accidently or purposely left where the dogs are, or a zillion other things.  However based on a bunch of data from the two different occurances, I think it might be from cane toads or some other poisonous toads.  There's a f***er that looks a lot like some of the cane toad photos living somewhere near my home*.  I see him when I cook dinner.  Next time I meet him, he is history.

Cane toads are the greatest Fu$cing pest ever,and they adapt to different enviroments really quick,If you have seen one,you can be sure it has a thousand relatives hiding around.Best way to kill them is "detol" it's a antiseptic we use in Oz,put it in a plastic spray bottle and a quick squirt on their backs and dead in a short time.

Warning Davu!! Don't handle them,they excrete the poison though their glands,you get it on you or then eat something and it could make you very sick Mate. And it's true 5metre crocs have been killed by eating one.

I just caught the suspected SOB.  He's in the freezer now.  Hope he didn't have any relations around.  I will be vigilant going forward.  BTW it wasn't the rescued dog who was poisoned.  He and the puppy are fine.  And the adult female survived after I raced into town to have her stomach pumped. The purp looks like the pictures.  Big and orangey.  Not like the other toads I've seen around here. I've seen him living by my washing machine for a long time.  Didn't know he was a killer. Only touched him with plastic and washed my hands and arms three times.
