Well, I'm Eddie, and got to this forum by stopping in to Meuang Pizza and met the owners.  I live in the city now, being the father of a baby boy in a small moo baan out in the countryside.  So, there's much for me to learn about Buriram and Issan, and maybe I have a wee bit of useful knowledge that I can share with others.

Hi....Thanks for the welcome.  I rented an apartment in the city and plan to stay until March.  At first, I had thoughts of staying with the family in Na Lao to bond with my son, but I'm a bit soft for Issan lifestyle.  My plans for the future.?.?.?  Don't really know.  I committed support for the baby when my gf got pregnant, as she was to abort.  Her mother has a small space on her property where I said that I would consider building them a small house..  A place where I could stay on my yearly winter trip to Thailand.  But the costs being discussed are not extravagant, but more than I can really afford.  Don't want to be seen as kee nok, but expectation of a farang house are more than I think is necessary.  Any suggestions?

sounds like a good plan.
Advice? I suggest you build a small house that you can afford and keep your feet on the ground.
