One would hope that the political and economic sanctions that they incurred last time would be sufficient to stay their hand.

I was working back in the UK when it last happened. It was worrying for me so far away and I telephoned my wife to make sure she was OK.
Her reply was "Sabai, sabai. Schools and some shops in Surin having holiday and everyone happy.

I hope the same applies next time for us all in Isaan party13

character1.............Ok We have made visa,s more difficult for expats, agreed their is no financial gain for us,but it shows them who,s BOSS.
Shutting bars and sale of alchohol at strange times hasnt caused as much of an outcry as we hoped, but we are still working on that one.
Stop smoking in public places, yea done that.Indiscriminate bombs,or shootings, thats being taken care of by our BKK division.
How about we???????? no sorry just daydreaming, just a thought what about our international airport?????????????????

Looking back at these older threads, one has to wonder about the commonly accepted talk and actions of coups in Thailand's history - as there has been many. Successful and attempted of every sort - military, civil, political, and judicial. Think about Thailand's contemporary history....who really benefits? Does society change as a result? Of course it doesn't? But, be there a popular uprising or revolt amongst the peasantry, that threatens the ruling establishment - everyone seems to go ape shit.
