Reply to #22 by Smithy, I like that house as well(but definitely not those colours), do you know if there are floor plans available for it anywhere, when I build that is about the size I want and just 1 level no more stairs for these screaming knees.

I was thinking the same. Using the layout of the ground floor and 'attach' the top floor behind / next to the ground floor. Maybe I will have to modify it slightly, but then at least I have a start.

Strange you should have been offered land measured in acres. The unit of measurement here in Thailand is RAI.   Nevertheless your 3/4 acre corresponds to 1.896964 rai, which at 200,000baht represents a good deal.

The OP can confirm exactly what his PEA electric connection options and expense will be on that parcel if he takes the time to go in person with four items to the PEA Electric Four Story office building on Highway 2074. PEA electrical service connection fees (meter charge) can be quoted if you bring the "Land paper", a map showing the location, Your yellow house book or Thai person's Blue Book, and the Thai person would have a valid Thai ID.   Your Thai spouse does not need to own the parcel to obtain a written price quote for temporary electrical meter for that site. The PEA will also give you in writing the price for what size meter is currently possible for what fee at that location.  Just because electrical wires run by a parcel you can not assume the price for a meter to service your parcel. if bamboo poles are what you see at the parcel then assume it is only "temporary" electricity for another PEA customer.  If you bring the four written items necessary for the PEA to quote a price to Ruangsangthai, one of the bi-lingual translators can accompany you to visit the PEA office and obtain accurate answers.  Thank you Mr. Pichai.
