If anyone is interested, I have a Husqvarna XP  272 saw for sale, running perfectly and recently cleaned and serviced at Pichai's. 45 cm bar. This is a top end hobby chain saw/ lower end professional machine. With handle heating for those cold winter days! I know how much it is worth but have only used it for a couple of days since I got here, I should get rid of it. Send me a PM please if interested, we can do a deal.

That is an excellent Husqvarna chain saw. Longer bar than any new chain saws I currently have in stock in Buriram. My repair department service manager said it is working perfect. I am only sorry I did not have a photo taken for the Buriram Builders Merchants website showing my staff repairing this quality Husqvarna chain saw.

The chainsaw license is the problem. Some guys turned up next door and went through a lengthy process felling a big tree with an electrical saw. One guy climbed up in his bare feet to attach a rope, this tree was thorny. I used to do this stuff every winter in difficult situations, I couldn't watch them.
Anyway, yes I'll accept a reasonable offer.

Under 12" no. Over 12" yes. Most DIY stores that sell these only sell the 12 ". You would need to contact the Department of Wildlife and Conservation. We just happen to know a few over here in KC. Next time I talk with them I'll ask some question BUT knowing these guys and girls shot Cambodians that are timber poachers I would not want to be caught with one to close to the border areas

You can in fact obtain a license (permit) for a chain saw at the large Provincial Government Center out past the Buriram Chang Racetrack.  It is the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, which previously was named Forestry department.  The web site is not up to date and not many people can understand or speak English in this office. It is the same office where you obtain a "permit" to have a well drilled on your property. Be sure to bring plenty of copies of papers and original of the papers to prove where you live and where you will be using your chain saw or drilling a well.  It might be easier for a Thai citizen due to language issues.    http://webeng.mnre.go.th/main.php?filename=index

I have several of the smaller gasoline chain saws in stock and sell at least one every day of the week at Ruangsangthai. However, the reason I do not sell NEW longer chain saws can be summed up in an e-mail from a prominent chain saw importer:


"RE : CHAINSAW AND BLADE THAT LARGER THAN LAW PERMITTED,  WE ARE NOT WILLING TO DO THIS BUSINESS AS THEY ARE VERY TROUBLESOME AND HAVE SO MANY PROBLEM AND TAKES LONGER TIME TO APPLY AND SELL.

Cheap small chain saws, not to criticise Pichai at all, are to be avoided. I found out the hard way.

Totally agree Davu....I bought a cheap chinese no-name chainsaw about 3 years ago and it's been unreliable...

I have Stihl chain saws and Husqvarna Chain saws available in Buriram when the customer pays in advance. We do not currently stock either brand, yet they can be in our store within 4 days of payment by the customer. I did obtain genuine made in Germany Stihl Chain Bar Oil last Saturday.  I can tell you the office in the same Government office building as Thailand Immigration in Buriram where you can easily have your Thai spouse obtain a permit for a longer blade petrol chain saw. I brought in a top of the range Husqvarna chainsaw from Australia.  I have hardly used  it and  it looks  in prime condition.  Having said that, I haven't tried starting it in 15 years.  I am certain that it will be hard to start.  Does  Ruangsangthai have qualified chainsaw mechanics to fix it if there are problems?  Do you stock chainsaw cutting chains, chainsaw oil, spark plugs, chainsaw grease and guide bars?

Most of the items you listed we have in stock. ANY Husqvarna part, for a Husqvarna saw model that has been imported to Thailand, we should be able to get the part in a reasonable time. Which Husqvarna petrol chain saw model do you own in Buriram?  Thank you, Mr. Pichai.
