Charities in Buriram area
« on: November 27, 2013, 06:26:03 PM »
Hi,
My wife and some friends wish help out an organisation who take care of thai children and elderly.  But we are not that familiar with who does charity work in the Buriram area.  Can someone please point us in the right direction?  Some organisation built on traditional thai values would be prefered.

Thanks
Sven

Btw, I loved the story about the kid in the wheelchair.  Great stuff!

To be completely honest, all references to " the lord" and "christ " makes me wonder that this is not what we are looking for. I might be completely wrong though. Is there no other initiative in Buriram ?

Around Christmas time, there will be a festival in downtown Buriram. You go there and see a farang in a santa suit, that will be Roger from TOLO.  Roger puts his money where his mouth is, and I don't see him personally profitting from TOLO.  That goes a long way in my book.

However, your money, your choice.  Good luck to you.

But a comment.  I had a top level boss that got fed up with UNICEF and all those other charities that took money and kept large amounts in overhead.  He started his own charity called CAS Cares.  He paid all the overhead, all the money collected went towards local charities.  20 years later, it is still going.  So don't like what you see, start your own.

Be nice to have something like that local.

Went  to talk to Roger  and Phongsri today, and guess what, I was all wrong . They are such great  people . They make the world a better place . No doubt TOLO  is the right charity . Thanks  for  the right tip . Btw Roger was at big c dressed up as santa . Or maybe it was santa all dressed up as Roger :)
