No post since 9 weeks
« on: October 06, 2012, 10:50:09 AM »
I had assumed that my  post wouldn't be interfered with as a first collective sending from Europe succeeded.
Since then a new credit card, which I need for my internet banking as well as other important documents have disappeared en route. How do you guys manage this? My son suggests using Fedex, the post office suggests sending it by registered post to a post office box (meaning that I would then have to wait for about 2 hours in the post office until I could go collect).
Fedex is pretty rapid and reliable, right? Any other suggestions?

I always use FEDEX as I send and receive documents from all over the world, without any problems, quick and efficient. Bugger DHL, they won't collect from Nangrong and deliveries have been late, lost and damaged.

I've used the Post Office to send non-important stuff like calendars, gifts etc and never had a problem.

Change your bank to one that doesn't need a card to operate Internet Banking.

EMS have a great service and consderably reliable, if not EMS (post office) I would go for FEDEX, I had some issues with DHL and the promised 'estimated time of delivery' but maybe it was just in my case, when I pay premium for EXPRESS service I expect it to be EXPRESS and not similar/same time of delivery as EMS... sawadi

I  since got myself a PO box in Lamplaimatt, and I got my stuff, about 6 days from Switzerland, registered mail. Not quite faultless however as the guys gave my wife a package addressed to a Danish guy, I had to take it back.
We are definitely putting the finger on the village postman, he has been seen holding letters up to the sun trying to see what is inside, which is probably why Thai envelopes are generally so heavy.

EMS from Pattaya to Prakhonchai takes 4 days, whilst an ordinary letter, 2/3bt stamps arrives in 3!  Who's fooling who?
