Thai pavillion is ready for Shanghai World Expo 2010 BANGKOK, 29 April 2010 (NNT) — Thailand is ready to showcase its cultural uniqueness and heritage at the Shanghai World Expo 2010.
According to Issara Somchai Ministry of Social Development and Human Security (M-Society), the Thai pavilion is completed and the Thai cultural performances currently being rehearsed are generating interest from the public.
Thailand's exhibition at World Expo is held under the theme Thainess: A Sustainable Way of Life. The Thai pavilion also showcases Thai-styled buildings.
The government has delegated M-society to portray and exhibit the cultural uniqueness of Thai life, and the sufficiency economy under HM the King’s royal initiatives.
The World Expo is a great way to publicize Thailand, attracting more tourists and investors, Mr Issara said. Even though the short-term event will last for six months, Mr Issara said that the pavilion structure can be of further use after the event is over.The Shanghai World Expo 2010 is held from 1 May- 31 October 2010.Meanwhile, the Cabinet last week approved Thailand to place a bid in hosting the World Expo in 2020. The World Expo held in Thailand is expected to generate 170 billion THB, according to Deputy Government Spokesperson Watchara Kanika.
