Gidday from Christchurch NZ - Shaken but not stired!

Hi all  - checking in as have just joined this forum with the objective of learning about the area and what I might expect to find when i visit in a few months time.  It will be good to escape from Christchurch for a while. You may have heard about our devastaing earthquakes -  4 September 10, 22 February 11 and 10 June 11.  Half the CBD is being demolished - over 900 commercial buildings.  Aftershocks continue - another this morning and over 10,000 since February.  "Cantabrians ... more than their cracked up to be"  .  Yes... it will be good to get away for a while...
