Revenue collection exceeds target : 15 Feb 2011 The government's revenue collection in the first four months of fiscal year 2011 (Oct 2010 to Jan 2011) totalled more than 521.22 billion baht, higher than target by over 64 billion baht, or 14.1 per cent.
Fiscal Police Office director-general Naris Chaiyasoot said on Tuesday tax collections last month stood at 125.75 billion baht, higher than the projection by about 20.46 billion baht, or 19.4 per cent. This was 9.9 per cent higher year-on-year.
The increase was attributed to continuing economic growth and the possibility of higher interest rates, said Mr Naris.
Revenue collection from corporate income tax, personal income tax, value-added tax and motor vehicle tax was also higher than forecast.
The 27th Thailand International Motor Expo, held in Dec 2010, also helped boost revenues, he said.
