Re Airlines & airline maintainence proceedures I probably know a lot more than most on here having been a licensed aircraft engineer with BA for 37 years

I'd not hesitate to fly with Qantas.

I'm sure that their "in house" maintenance is impeccable, but sadly they do "outsource" a lot of work to cheaper labor operators. (but then, that's what fuels the low airfares you all enjoy, right?)
