Now its sold I can almost safely voice my opinion of the second hand car market in Thailand. Having lived and worked in Thailand off and on for over 25 years the secondhand car market never ceases to amaze me. I don't think there is anywhere else I have been to in the world that a 16yr old Toyota with such high mileage would sell for such a price, its laughable, (unless of course your looking for a second hand car in Thailand)!
My observation is no way aimed only at this car in particular.

Hi,
your reflection is right, but it's not a laugh, it's an effect of the market, supply and demand in a country that has its automotive boom now, from some years. When the request ceases, prices will fall. There is another important factor that makes the used goods market remain at high values (compared to European habits), the costs of maintenance, spare parts and labor are compared to the western costs, very low. Many foreigners can not understand this concept. Of course if one has the money and wants the new car, goes to the dealer, pay and buy. Used cars, if you have any problem with a few baht you can fix it.
