Title: The abstruce concept of one square metre.
Post by: davureborn on March 06, 2016, 03:57:11 PM
I go past Global House every day so, only needing THREE square metres of tiles I went to Global Mad House (not Rueangsongthai as I should have done). . Eyes glazed over, complexions paled, as I said I needed enough tiles for 3 square metres. I indicated with my arms, one square metre. I took out a measuring thingy and put it on the floor. See? That's one square metre. Glazed eyes were filled with fear and loathing. This is a guy working in the tiles section. I asked another guy, this time I got the smirk that indicates 'crazy Farang'. I couldn't see the packets, I would have taken three if I had.  So the guy sells me two packets and the guys loading the car mocked when I went through the same procedure and told me that one would have been enough.
On hindsight a funny experience but having to learn yet again that unless you know exactly what you want you won't get what you want.
I suppose that applies to life as well but I'm still learning about that.
Ok, start mocking.

Don't remember the name for it (as I always have the wife with me), but Thai builders use a unit of 4 square meters.
If you say you need that much, you'll get what you want - actually a bit too much in your case, but you dont need to take all of it ;)
