Title: Motorcycle hemets
Post by: mudcat on June 07, 2015, 10:07:12 AM
After starting to wear the dealer supplied helmet on errands around the village I came to realize how worthless they are and wonder if there are reasonable priced open-face helmets for sale in Buriram.  Would buy them here but the lawyer surcharge in the U.S. has made them pretty pricy.

You could try Jessie's helmet shop just up from the day market.

Last time I was in there he had a very good range of helmets.

Very helpful guy who speaks better English than I do  :)

The only Thai made helmets that I would recommend are REAL or Shark, nearly all the others are just head coverings to stop police fines IMO.

Shark Evoline 3 is a well designed lid that is modular so you have the benefit of both open face and full face (for extra safety)

As stated, Arai are a top make and I'd expect them to be 20,000b +. Most are not open face as Op stated that he wants.

Nowhere near 20000 baht.. Bought a white one for the wife for 2000 baht.. That was 3 years ago and still going strong..

Good Choice. A well designed lid for a very reasonable price. it was also on my 'possible next lid list'
Some lids over here are for Asian shaped heads and slightly different to that in Europe so always best to try before you buy IMO.

Anyone know where to get Child's helmets?  When I checked with Jesse he didn't carry them.
