Title: Which Immigration Office for me (Korat or Kap Choeng)
Post by: iammike on September 16, 2014, 10:34:04 AM
Hi,

Will be moving soon to Buriram (Amphoe Krasang near Lam Duan to be precise).

Which Immigration Office is the one for me, for my 90 Day Reporting and getting a new Extension of Stay ?

I have heard that it is Kap Choeng but I rather have some member who is living in the same area to give me definite answer.

Thanks, Much appreciated

5555 oke, will drop by when I am near.

Another related question to KCI. Do you know how old the Bank Letter (for renewing Extension of Stay) can be. (is 2 days old accepted ?)

I am still in Doubt where I will open my new Bank Account I'm in doubt between Surin or Buriram. I could open an Account at KTB in Krasang, but id rather have a BBL account.

Bank letter is to be no older than 3 days. If you have a Bangkok Bank account then you can get your letter in Kap Choeng as there is a BB on the 214 highway just past the KCI turn off. 100 baht for the letter.

Thanks Urleft.

But I am still a couple of years away from retirement age. :)

I am at the moment on an extension of stay based on Married to a Thai National, but I can't wait to go the retirement route as the paperwork is a lot less (money seasoned is more (double to be exact), but the paperwork is less then half ;)  plus the ret. extension is (almost) approved on the spot, while for marriage you have the 30 day "under consideration" period.

Don't worry, dealing with BE Members such as Nookie will age you fast.

How does KCI handle if you are a couple of days late with your 90 days report.

The reason why I am asking is, that officially you can report 14 days before and 7 days after the notification date, but I've read that some Immigration Office will start fining you even if you are 1 day late, and thus want to know how KCI handles this.

Thanks !

^^^^ Had a friend go there (KCI) last Tuesday.

His 90 day report day fell on the previous Saturday.

So 4 days late and no dramas at all.

If it's in line with all the other immigration offices (maybe except Chang Mai ;) ) they are open from 8:30 - 16:30 Monday to Friday and closed on Saturdays.

As Somnat wrote they are open at 8:00am.

Please be advised that on Dec 5th they will be closed and I think also on Dec 10th but I'm not 100% sure on that one.

However, just because they are open does not mean they are fully operational.  I got there early one morning and there was only one agent semi assisting people.  With a 90 day report it took a long time.  GL and I discussed it in one of these threads, he mentioned about them being hung over.

Getting there early is not always a good thing.

I agree on the early bit it is not really needed at KCI. As for opening they are now at 8:30 as they have had a complete change over of personal and they have seriously increased their personal size.
