Title: Beef steaks in BigC
Post by: davu on May 16, 2014, 01:40:19 PM
Anybody tried these yet? I think they are a new proposition. ฿429/Kg. Not expensive if they are eatable, much too expensive if they are of the same standard as the night market rubbish..

Starman,

If you get about a 700 gram sirlion, get 2 of them, pm me and I will take them.  I miss a mansized steak.  Got to the USA on 22 April, bought 2 at a local supermarket and grilled out.  Really miss that.

No, three 250 sirlions are not the same.

Paul, same offer to you provided they are less than 400 baht each.

And to semi-sweeten the offer.

Whoever provides those 700 Gram Sirlions to me will be invited to share with me.   I have some very special seasoning from the Great American Land and Cattle Company which is terrific on grilled steaks.

Years ago, before I became a highly qualifed security advisor, I was cook trying to pay my college room and board.  I have litterally cooked thousands of steaks.

I examined the steaks today and they didn't look at all fresh. So I bought some cheese instead.

Thank you.

Yes. I saw Nookie yesterday morning at about 6am. I mentioned that you had posted and he said he would have a look.

If you would like to pick the steaks up nearer to Buriram then let me know. I will collect them for you and you can pick up from me.

Just cooked up several steaks and hamburgers I got from Nookie.  Very Acceptable.  Maybe a little excess fat of some of the steaks based on US standards, but I will order from him again.

Of course I used some Texas seasoning, The best I have found, been using it for years.

I should have thought that you were the kind of person that makes his own sauce, Keith.

Until I moved here I was almost a workaholic and did not have time.  Now that I have the time, the ingredients are the real challenge.

So I will stick to proven seasonings.   But hopefully once I can get the right peppers and have tortilla chips, I will start making salsa.

Well your chilis are coming on but it will be a month or three before we get a crop. Didn't I see tortilla chips in BigC?
