Don't.

Take a trip to Homepro in Buriram - usually good offers there. Also worth casting an eye over Thai Watsadu and Taweekit.

I would second Co-Co's comment.

There seems to be a new 'eco' breed of air cons that I haven't seen before, also slightly cheaper for the same BThU rating. Anyway for stuff like this I reckon Homepro is the way to go, they deliver and install. Just make sure that the outside unit is mounted horizontally.

There are inverter aircon units available now, save up to 40% on your power bills, initial cost is more, but besides power savings, based on the technology, they should last alot longer in service. Not sure who has them in Buriram.

Looked at inverter units and found that their advantage from not cycling on and off to maintain a temperature range is not worth the additional cost if all you are doing is getting the bedroom cool enough to sleep and then letting the timer shut it off in an hour or so.  Living spaces such as living or tv rooms would be a different situation.

Just a minor point re the original question.  Delivery costs in Thailand are extremely cheap for retailers like HomePro, Thai Watsadu and Taweekit; therefore, delivery from Buriram to the Nang Rong or Lahansai area is typically "no charge" - which is quite different from the western world in similar situations.   So, whether coming from Buriram or Nang Rong is irrelevant and getting to Buriram is not than difficult, even for newcomers.  Vendors in Nang Rong seem to have significantly higher prices and much less selection.

Surely vertically - or am I missing something with the inverter models ?
